Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. In her early Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in an Play. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress and director has spent most of her career working alongside well-known directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney Digital Television's channels. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the helm of the production. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over an Century. Two seasons ago, Ashford was the main character of CBS's hit series B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and is now dividing her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
